    l'ubicazione
    una delle tre camere indicate, in realta, è un soppalco che comunica col soggiorno e sala colazione quindi non garantisce privaci, in particolare se tutte le camere non sono occupate da un gruppo omogeneo.
    Il bagno, grande, confortevole e pulito, è uno solo per le due camere non soppalcate, e quindi non si può definire bagno privato.

    Absolut zentral im Sasso Barrisano gelegen, der Vermieter war sehr freundlich, das Fruehstueck hervorragend, alles in allem also nur zu empfehlen. Auch war das Haus schnell zu finden, obwohl das in den Sassi von Matera oft nicht einfach ist.

    Friendly owner, but not much else.
    The owner wasn't there on arrival. I had to ring him on my mobile phone. That's problematic for anyone without a phone and who doesn't speak basic Italian. The location, within the Sassi, is tricky to find without a good map. The website should include something better, and also details of where to park. Car parking for Le Rondinelle is hopeless, nearby parking slots are only for residents. Expect to be lugging your bags up and down cobbled stairways. I would not recommend this place for elderly people who are shaky on their feet. Or for families with toddlers in pushchairs.
    The upstairs bedroom is more like a mezzanine so there was no real privacy. There was also nowhere in this upstairs room to hang clothes. Breakfast is supposedly from 8am to 9am, but the owner didn't arrive until 8.15am any morning. Cold pizza is not my idea of an acceptable breakfast. He did bring croissants on the next two mornings, but one cup of tepid froth is not my idea of good breakfast coffee either.

    Our host was exceptionally warm and helpful. He shared a lot of information about Matera with us and really helped provide us with an "insider's view." He also really seemed to go out of his way to make us comfortable. And, the room was really lovely and quite comfortable.
