   We were travelling as two friends and had the room with the 2 single beds as pictured. We were VERY pleasantly surprised to find that we had the whole simple, very lovely, decorated with old theatre posters and photos, apartment to ourselves,(there was no-one in the room with the double bed- not sure if that is sometimes rented out at the same time?) including a kitchen and cooking facilities and our own bathroom/ toilet facilities, all for the same price we had paid many places for a room only and the standard package croissant and coffee breakfast. It was a lovely location and we totally accidentally timed our visit with the annual jousting festival where the streets were filled with people in medieval dress! It seems that the couple live in the 3rd floor and the 2 floors below are rented out as fully separate apartments. Ok so we did hear later from locals in Rome that there was recently an earthquake in the area of Sulmona and locals were staying away.. maybe that's why we felt we got SUCH a great deal- But the details stand!

   We only had 2nights in Sulmona and I guess some would be disappointed that the beds were not made up for us after the first night, but we found it quite refreshing to have our own space after a month of travelling and absolutely no restrictions on coming and going times. The breakfast was self service from the fridge stocked with milk and juice, and a pantry with the packaged croissants, of course!, and some sad stale bread rolls( I think they would benefit from not including), a variety of jams, teabags and coffee and a very kind offer to have the coffee made for us if we were not familiar with how make it stove top espresso style. I was not restocked after our first night. We found a great supermarket over the bridge just out of Centro Historico- So no problems.The stairs could have been a killer but backpack was easy and suitcase was carried up by the owner and down by his son! Were really disappointed that we could not visit inside the nearby historical theatre without prebooking for a group and by more than a day. It looked stunning and interesting from the decorations in the apartment.

   The couple that own the apartment and made us feel very welcome, even greated with a home baked cake. Would defiantly recommend this property

   the pictures in the site are less atractive than the place itself - we reccomend updating them and make the pictures more attractive great location, nice flat, we had a great time.

   Die Zimmer waren sehr zentral gelegen und zweckmäßig ausgestattet. Die Vermieter sind sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit, aber in keinster Weise aufdringlich. Gutes Frühstück zum selbst bereiten in einer eigenen kleinen Küche.

   Gerade abends und in der Nacht, wenn der Corso Ovido gesperrt ist, rollt viel Verkehr über das Kopfsteinpflaster, so dass man, ist man Stille gewohnt, bei geschlossenem Fenster schlafen muss.

   The owners were absolutely fabulous - on the day we stayed, the annual horse racing competition was on, and the town was closed, along with bus routes that would have led us to the accommodation. They came out and personally collected us from the train station, and then dropped us back out there the next day. AND, when I left something in the room, the owner found it and zipped back out to return it to me before the train left! Unheard of hospitality, and wonderfully friendly people. Thank you!

   Since our rooms weren't air conditioned because they were so big, it would have been great to have a fan in the room, as being in town it was necessary to close the windows to sleep for noise block-out.

   The owner was very friendly and welcoming and the place was lovely and warm which was great given that it was November and freezing outside. It was a nice, spacious apartment.
