The house is a former Franciscan convent founded at the end of the 15th century. It was purchased, together with Villa Aureli, by the Meniconi Bracceschi family in the second half of the 19th century; since then it was inhabited by farmers and friars until the fifties. The property has been declared hystorical monument by the Ministry of Culture.
The owners, descendants of the Meniconi Bracceschi family, recently restored the house and dedicated to their guests an indipendent part of it, including a double bedroom with king-size bed, a studio with a divan bed for a child (cm. 190/70) and a wide bathroom with tub and shower. Here the customers (maximum 2 1 pers.) can enjoy full tranquillity.
Beyond the rich breakfast with house made cakes and marmelades, dinners are served on demand. We also organise guided tours to the city of Perugia and to its surroundings. The guests are provided with free bycicles.
Castel del Piano is 8 km south of Perugia, along the Via Pievaiola, in the direction of the lake Trasimeno. Close to the village borders there is the ancient forest of La Torricella, ideal for walks and bycicle tours and rich in local plants and animals. The city can be easily reached also with public transport.
