   Rossana was such a wonderful host. She gave us excellent recommandations on places to see in Venice, providing us with map where she marked all the important places to see, concert to attend, boat to take etc. The room is really beautiful, better than what I saw in the picture. Perfect for a family of four. It is cozy and homely. The kitchen has no smell at all (though one of the review mentioned that), and very well equipped. There is a washing machine in the apartment too ! Located on the ground floor, it is great for us with a few luggages.

   This apartment gives the visitor the feeling of genuinely normal Venetian life. It is 5 minutes walk from the S. Stae vaporetto. Just outside it are restaurants, a panificio, and a square where Venetians stroll, play, walk their dogs, do their shopping (at the little supermarket) and sip a drink at one of several cafe bars. Accessed through a locked Venetian passageway, the apartment has a well-equipped kitchen, a living/dining room, a loft bedroom plus 2 extra single beds, a bathroom and a little veranda looking onto a small courtyard. We were met by Rosanna, who was generous with her time, helping us to settle in and responding to our queries. She provided us with an excellent map of Venice, allowing us to wander with confidence. We wholeheartedly recommend this as a place to stay in Venice.

   The layout of the apartment was very spacious and tasteful - well appointed with plenty of room to move around in. Location is in a quiet, pretty area with plenty of local shops & good restaurants only footsteps away and the vaporettos also fairly close by. Apartment management was excellent - all our queries & concerns were quickly & professionally responded to.

   We were delighted with the apartment and it suited our needs very well. We especially liked being in a family neighborhood. Everything we needed was just steps outside the apartment, yet we felt quite removed from the bustle once inside the apartment.

   *The very damp and musty smell, especially in the kitchen.
   * We found the mattress to be much too hard

   We found the location and the size of the apartment to be perfect. The apartment is well-furnished and comfortable. Rosanna took the time to walk us through a detailed map of Venice highlighting all there was to see, even the less touristic areas - which we really appreciated. There are very convenient shops nearby, including a grocery store where you can buy fresh food to prepare an inexpensive dinner at the apartment - a plus for a family with 2 children! And if you want to eat out, there are plenty of small restaurants nearby with a variety of menu-items. Highly recommended - you will love it as much as we did!

   The apartment is located on the internal side of the building and while this is perfect for cutting sound, the apartment lacks light. But with all the walking one does in Venice, a good night's sleep is really important, and you can definitely get it at this quiet and charming apartment. If you are planning to do a bit of washing while you are there, ask how the washer works, we found it a bit tricky.

   We loved our stay at Ca Cortigiane. The location was brilliantly located - very central to all of Venice. Lovely bakery across the street, and co-op next door, plus a lovely square. Very close to the Saint Sofia traghetto station and an easy walk to other things. The apt was roomy, clean, and loved how the patio opened up fully onto the courtyard. Roseanna was very helpful in giving us tips on where to sightsee and when, shopping tips, and how to tour Venice smartly.

   A little smelly in the outside hall...but it's Venice!
