Bed & Breakfast "Alla Madonna Del Piatto" is situated close to Assisi, a UNESCO world heritage site in Umbria, Italy.

All rooms have magnificent views of the Umbrian green hills and of Assisi's St. Francis basilica. Visit us to enjoy the quiet countryside, to learn how to cook like a native in our beautiful kitchen and to taste our delicious olive oil.

Our B&B is a quiet oasis both day and night, an ideal spot to unwind. You will awake every morning to the sights of the rolling Umbrian hills and the medieval town of Assisi perched on the Subasio Mountain.

You can sunbathe on the terracotta-paved terrace or sip a glass of wine under the grapevine arbor.

If, on the other hand, you can tear yourself away from the garden and its panorama, Bed & Breakfast "Alla Madonna Del Piatto" is conveniently located to explore Umbria's beautiful medieval hill towns. Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Orvieto, Spoleto, Norcia, Perugia and the Sagrantino di Montefalco wine region are at easy reach.

In addition, Tuscany's splendid Renaissance towns Siena and Cortona as well as the marvelous Frasassi Caves and imposing Urbino in Le Marche are all within about an hour's drive. If you enjoy hiking, the Subasio natural park, the Franciscan Trail of Peace and the FAI Saint Francis Woodlands are only minutes away.

Every room of our historic B&B is tastefully decorated with wrought-iron beds, antique cabinets and handmade fabrics. We have renovated the six rooms of "Alla Madonna del Piatto" with great attention to details, so that each has its own character.

The two rooms on the ground floor are in the oldest part of the farmhouse and feature impressive stonewalls and beamed ceilings. The first-floor rooms are bright and colorful with large windows.

All rooms are equally comfortable and all offer breathtaking views of Assisi's valley blanketed with meadows, forests and olive groves.

All guestrooms have reading lights, beautifully tiled en-suite bathrooms and radiant heating beneath the terracotta floors. The position of the house high up in the hills (600 mt/1800 ft above sea level) guarantees cool nights even in the height of the summer. The vine-covered patio and terrace are perfect spots for al fresco picnics on summer evenings.

You will enjoy breakfast in the large room that has been decorated with colorful local pottery. There is a lounge area with open fireplace and a comprehensive collection of pictures and guidebooks to help you plan your vacation. Even though we have no cooking facilities, a small refrigerator is available to store drinks and sandwiches.

For those who don't mind trading a few hours of sightseeing for the opportunity to spend a day in an Italian kitchen, we offer cooking classes in English.
